It's the day after Thanksgiving and with everything I have to be thankful for, social media is actually high on that list. I know it sounds crazy but I really am grateful for the crazy world of social media.
My life has changed dramatically in the last 11 months since I started blogging about social media. And for that, I am forever thankful!
I have met some of the most interesting and amazing people through social media. I have met people in all corners of the world - in places that I would never visit to otherwise meet these people. Social media really is shrinking the world we live in and making everything so accessible to so many. This is just one reason why I'm thankful for social media.
I love to read and learn new things. I've been reading since I was a child and have always had books (or my Kindle now) at my fingertips. Reading others' blogs and articles is such a wealth of entertainment and education that I can't ever get enough of. Social media sites abound with these articles. Whether articles from my trusted sources or new gems to be found, there's always something new to see. That social media aggregates all these posts for me is one more reason I'm thankful for social media.
I have always loved to teach and train people. It's something that has always come naturally to me and I continue to enjoy it today. Through my blog I have been able to educate thousands of people about social media. I have been able to sit down and talk with business owners and help them grow their social media strategies. Honestly, this to me is pure bliss. Being able to do this just makes me happy. And so this is another reason why I'm thankful for social media.
On a similar note, my blog has blossomed into a business. I never imagined owning my own business or being an entrepreneur. I was always good at sales and marketing but I've always worked for other companies. To be fair, I still have my day job which takes up most of my time. But social media has allowed me to branch out and do something for myself. And so, for this reason too, I'm thankful for social media.
I know I mentioned above that I have met some incredible people. But beyond that, I have made friendships with some of these amazing people. And for this reason, I am excitedly thankful each and every day for social media.
So, yes, I am thankful for social media!

Professionally speaking, we have a lot in common. I, too have a day job that takes up (too much) time, but pays the bills and provides insurance for my wife and children, so it’s a little hard to complain – right now. In April of this year, we started our own consulting company that was founded on the fundamentals of graphic design and marketing. An artistic vision allowed me to create visuals that others liked enough to hire me freelance to handle their professional social media networks. Long story short, we learned, grew and decided to make it official by starting a company from it. We have continued to grow by bringing on more clients, and it is nothing short of a blessing. We plan to dramatically increase business by expanding on our marketing strategies and go nationwide. One foot in front of the other until we get to where we are going! Best of luck to you, stay in touch.
