Audio Transcriptions Now Available in Instagram Direct Messages

Instagram has rolled out a new feature for direct messages, allowing users to get an audio transcription of voice messages.

To access the transcription, simply tap on “View transcription” at the bottom of the of the audio bubble in your DM. The first time you do this, you will need to acknowledge a disclaimer. It will take a few seconds to complete, but the process is fairly quick and the text transcription will appear directly below the audio note, in the same bubble so you know which text is for which audio message.

This feature is ideal if you're in a place where you can't or don't want to listen to audio! Or if you want a text version of a long voice message to reference.
